Meet Anthony (Tony) J. Fidaleo
CPA (Inactive)
A NEIGHBOR WITH STRONG TIES TO BOTH COMMUNITIES, WHO CARES ABOUT OUR WATER SECURITY, RATES, AND OUR FUTURE
I grew up in San Pedro and have spent much of my life in the Palos Verdes Peninsula, where my wife and I raised our two children, both Peninsula High School graduates.
I put myself through Long Beach State while working full time at the old Todd and Bethlehem (Southwest Marine) shipyards as a shipwright and electrician’s helper and “threw bananas” as a longshoreman when out of work through local 9 and 13 unions. I was the first 18-year-old leadman at Bethlehem since wartime.
I passed the CPA exam and started my professional career in accounting, of which the first 10 years were spent primarily at BDO, the fifth-largest CPA firm in the world. I left in 1992 as an Audit Senior Manager (one step below partner). Since that time, I have been a hands-on CFO, COO, temporary CEO, and member of multiple private and public company boards of directors. During my professional career, I worked on everything from single-person startups to multinational Fortune 500 companies and owned/own my own local business.
ELISA MISENAS-FIDALEO, my wife of 30 years, graduated from Carson High School and was raised as one of many active family and friends who are members of the Filipino Community of Carson.
Our family’s roots run deep throughout South Bay.
With more than 30 years of financial leadership experience, I hope to bring careful financial oversight, practical decision-making, and accountability to the West Basin Municipal Water District Board. My focus is on the everyday concerns of residents and families who depend on safe, reliable, reasonably priced water.
DIRECT EXPERIENCE IN THE WATER INDUSTRY
For the past 12 years, I was the sole independent financial expert member of the Board of Directors of OriginClear (OCLN – a publicly traded company) www.originclear.com – OriginClear overview:
Based in the USA, OriginClear is revolutionizing the trillion-dollar global water industry by solving the capital problems that are stagnating it. Our Water On Demand™ initiative allows everyday investors to invest directly in productive water projects, thereby enabling businesses and communities to pay for only the water they use with no upfront capital required.
The Tech division focuses on small to midsize commercial, industrial, and municipal end markets
that need to manage on-site systems. We provide next-generation Water Treatment Solutions Engineered to be stronger, safer, and more cost-effective using environmentally friendly materials and processes.
During 2010-2011, I was the Acting Chief Financial Officer of Santa Clara Water Waste (SCWW) dba Southern California Wastewater, a privately owned commercial wastewater facility providing wastewater treatment for companies and haulers in Ventura County, California, and in adjacent counties. My role was to identify, correct, personally manage, and present internal, investor-related, and governmental financial reporting systems. The focus was to bring the financial system, including budgeting and forecasting, into a modern, auditable state and be able to present the same to sophisticated potential investors, including investment bankers, to achieve the owner’s/management’s goal of becoming a publicly traded company. I was the liaison between the outside CPA/audit firm, legal counsel, investment bankers, and other professionals.
“This community is home to my family, and I care about the same things you do—keeping water rates fair and making sure we have reliable water when we need it most, especially during fires and emergencies. I want to do my part to protect what matters to all of us.”
— Anthony J. Fidaleo
MY PRIORITIES
FOCUSING ON FAIR WATER RATES
Advocate for fair water rates through responsible budgeting, careful oversight of spending, and efficient use of public resources.
RELIABLE WATER FOR FIRES & EMERGENCIES
Support dependable and ongoing expansion of water infrastructure and regional emergency planning, so water systems are better prepared when fires and other emergencies occur. We do not want Palos Verdes to be another Pacific Palisades or Carson; many warehouses and neighborhoods experience the potential for fire and related chemical exposure from the local refineries due to a lack of water when most needed.
PROTECTING OUR WATER FUTURE
California is losing access to billions of gallons of water from the Colorado River; West Basin owns the money lost (lost $9M last year alone - a cost directly paid by ratepayers) at the Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility located in El Segundo, along with 4 satellite treatment facilities. I support pushing West Basin’s Management to lobby the state and local government along with the business community to invest in expanding the infrastructure throughout the South Bay in conjunction with the local fire departments, parks and recreation, etc. to reduce reliance on water purchased from the MWD and expand its 75-year history of producing sustainable clean water for locations like SoFi Stadium, Palos Verdes golf courses, and the McDonald Carson Regional Water Recycling plant.
TRANSPARENCY & ACCOUNTABILITY
Encourage clear communication, thoughtful decisions, and accountability to the people the District serves.
WHAT I AM NOT
I am not a politician, I am not another engineer, I am not a union organizer, and I do not need an income from this position.
WHAT I OFFER THAT IS NEW
I am a pragmatic businessman who would be the first financial expert with direct ties to both communities in at least the past 25 years.
I ASK YOU FOR YOUR VOTE TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2026
Our Water. Our Community. Our Future.
